Verus Research is searching for an Electronics Technician Intern to assist with operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-voltage, high-current electronic systems. Example systems are comprised of high-voltage circuits (including Marx generators), high-voltage power supplies, spark-gap switches, pulse and trigger generators, and embedded systems controllers. The Electronics Technician Intern may perform a number of duties, including installation of electronic components into pulse power systems, operation and maintenance of those electronic components, troubleshooting and diagnosis, and testing of components to ensure they meet specifications. This posting is for work in the Albuquerque, New Mexico, area.
The ideal candidate for the Electronics Technician Intern role will possess a strong mix of analytical and hands-on skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide innovative solutions. Success in this demanding role will stem from:
- U.S. citizenship
- Presently holding or being able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
- Enrollment in an electronics technology program or relevant technical discipline
- Familiarity with high-voltage (30 kV+) and high-current (1 MA+) systems
- Ability to install and remove items weighing up to 50 pounds within spaces requiring crouching, crawling, and climbing
