Verus Research is searching for qualified applicants for an Engineering Manager role within our Systems Engineering and Development (SE&D) portfolio to support our expanding research and development needs across a broad array of technical areas, including pulsed power, high-power microwave devices, electromagnetic sensors, and electronic warfare. The Engineering Manager will possess the leadership traits, communications skills, and experience required to address the challenges inherent in complex system integration. The Engineering Manager will work closely with the SE&D Technical Director and Program Managers to:
- Directly supervise a highly qualified staff of scientists and engineers
- Monitor daily operations of the System Realization Team and determine labor resource allocation in coordination with Program Managers
- Provide feedback and aid in training to increase the technical skills and overall development of the System Realization Team
- Conduct conflict resolution, performance reviews, and support team members’ achievement of annual goals
- Provide leadership on project prioritization, planning, and execution
- Promote the Verus Research culture
- Administer and execute policies, procedures and practices that affect individual team members

Success in this role will stem from:
- U.S. citizenship
- Nominally 5 years of professional experience (technical or project) working in relevant areas (Systems Integration, R&D, Test and Evaluation, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or related field
- Demonstrated supervision and leadership of technical staff
- Clear understanding of project and program execution within a matrixed organization
- Ability to support allocation of labor and equipment resources to projects effectively
- A desire to mentor others and promote team cohesion
