Radio Frequency Modeling & Simulation Engineer

Verus Research is searching for a Radio Frequency (RF) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer to provide both analysis and software programming support for scientific simulations in radio wave propagation and interactions.

The RF M&S Engineer will support analysis of RF interactions with the environment, and in assessment of high-power microwave weapon effectiveness against electronic targets.  A significant portion of the work will be development and maintenance of scientific simulation software written primarily in C++, though some prototype/supporting codes are in Python.  This work will require developing and updating software using Visual Studio, CMake, and Git.  Verus Research is committed to solving our customer’s most challenging technical problems and seeks solution-oriented individuals to enhance our team’s ability to thrive in this role. The ideal candidate for the RF M&S Engineer will possess a strong mix of development and analytical skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide innovative solutions.  Success in this demanding role will stem from:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree(s) in electrical/computer engineering or physics
  • 3 or more years of experience in simulation analysis or data analysis and visualization
  • Experience working in software development with C++
  • Understanding of electromagnetic wave propagation with Geometric Optics and the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (GO/UTD) or other computational electromagnetic theory
  • Experience in statistical methods and algorithm development
