Senior Software Engineer (Radiation Effects)

Verus Research is searching for a Senior Software Engineer (Radiation Effects) as part of the Combined Environments Design of Experiments (CEDE) program. The Senior Software Engineer (Radiation Effects) will lead and perform research and development with a team of both full-time and part-time personnel in support of developing capabilities for Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) test systems in support of injecting radiation functional effects responses.

The Senior Software Engineer (Radiation Effects) must be able to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. The candidate will work independently and with a team to identify and mitigate technical risks in the design and implementation of radiation effects models in hardware test architectures and mentor team members in technical disciplines and complex engineering principles vital to the successful execution of program objectives. The ideal candidate for the Senior Software Engineer (Radiation Effects) position will possess a strong mix of leadership and research and critical thinking skills and demonstrate an understanding of both HWIL testing techniques and radiation hardening testing of micro-electronics systems and sub-systems. Success in this exciting role will stem from:

• U.S. Citizenship
• 5-8 years of experience working radiation testing and/or radiation modeling
• An advanced degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or a bachelor’s degree with additional years of experience in lieu of advanced degree
• Background in physics, image processing, and/or signal processing
• Experience with hardware interfaces, GPUs, and GPU optimization, as well as interface control documents (ICDs) and/or application programming interfaces (APIs)
• Familiarity with measurement and characterization of radiation effects in electrical devices
• Knowledge of space and nuclear radiation environments
