Verus Research is searching for a Test Engineer Intern to perform research, development, and analysis in the directed energy technical area, with a specific focus on high-power microwave (HPM) applications. The Test Engineer Intern will perform experimental testing and analysis to support the development and validation of HPM systems. This posting is for work in Albuquerque, NM.
The ideal Test Engineer Intern candidate will possess a strong mix of experience with laboratory testing, the ability to work in teams, and the capacity to communicate verbally and provide coherent written reporting of technical outcomes. Success in this demanding role will stem from:
- U.S. citizenship
- Completion of at least two years of study in a university program of electrical engineering, applied physics, or other relevant academic discipline
- Experience with common laboratory diagnostic equipment, such as oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Ability to position self to install and remove items weighing up to 50 pounds from spaces requiring crouching, crawling, and climbing
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including ability to convey complex ideas and provide innovative solutions
