Verus Research is searching for a Test Operator to perform effects system testing to support research and development on a high-voltage pulsed-power system.
The Test Operator will have a strong foundation in test techniques and methodologies, use of common test equipment, and an ability to interpret and resolve system anomalies. The candidate is expected to be meticulous and exact in their documentation of test results and is required to work collaboratively with teams of engineers and scientists to achieve successful test execution and written test reporting.
The Test Operator will assist with laboratory testing, including setting up and conducting tests, reducing test data, and analyzing results. Additional duties will include assisting in the definition of the system’s standard operating procedures, operator’s manual, and other operationally related technical manuals and documentation. The ideal candidate for the Test Operator role will possess a strong mix of leadership traits, analytical skills, relevant experience, and the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide innovative solutions. Success in this demanding position will stem from:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Demonstrated experience performing electronic measurements, testing, and analysis in an aerospace, defense, or another relevant environment
- Associate’s degree or technical school equivalent in an engineering, physics or other relevant academic discipline
- Proven experience with common laboratory diagnostic equipment, such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
- A documented track record of high-level written and oral communication skills, including experience writing technical reports and briefing test results to stakeholders
