Wargame Analyst

Verus Research is searching for an experienced Wargame Analyst with operational Mission Planning experience.  The successful applicant will lead mission-level modeling efforts focused on integration of directed energy (DE) weapon systems in a live, virtual, constructive (LVC) simulation environment.

At Verus Research, our core technical expertise includes DE weapon engagement analysis, system effectiveness studies, weapon concepts of operations (CONOPS) development, and collateral damage assessment.  The primary role for the Wargame Analyst will be to develop DE mission scenarios and execute simulations using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).  The Wargame Analyst will also lead integration of DE systems further into the AFSIM mission-level environment and create CONOPS for employing DE-related systems now under development.  This posting is for work in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop threat scenarios for potential missions of interest
  • Optimize the employment methodologies of kinetic effects (KE), DE systems, and electronic warfare (EW) and cyber-attack methods
  • Develop collaborative and synergistic scenarios employing DE, cyber, and EW
  • Support the LVC mission life cycle of planning, execution, analysis, and reporting
  • Identify simulation capability gaps and create requirements for new software modules to mitigate shortfalls

Success in this role will stem from:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Presently holding a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
  • Familiarity with:
    • Mission Planning process
    • Assessments of KE, DE, and cyber/EW systems
    • Command and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C2ISR) platforms
    • Mission courses of action (COAs)
    • Game theory
  • Experience developing mission scenarios in AFSIM, Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM), or One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF) is highly desired
