Verus Research has received a $1.2 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award to support the Air Force Research Laboratory’s High Power Microwave Division.
This Phase II win is for the Microwave Source with Frequency Tuning (MISFT), a novel concept for a tunable backward wave oscillator design customizable for many different center frequencies.
“The effort will involve fabrication, integration, and demonstration of the Phase I design,” according to Dr. J. Mark DelGrande, Verus Research chief technology officer. “MISFT represents another Verus Research high-power microwave design that will see first light in the company’s electromagnetics lab.”
