Project Controller

Verus Research is searching for a Project Controller.  Through direct involvement in multiple projects of varying contract type, size, complexity, and level of risk, the Project Controller participates in planning, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on these efforts. The selected candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of and broad experience applying the principles, concepts, practices, and standards of Program Control, as well as extensive knowledge of U.S. defense industry contract practices.  This role requires regular interface with project managers, senior technical staff, and other functional areas, including contracting, subcontract management, finance, procurement.  This posting is for work in the Albuquerque, NM, area.

The ideal candidate will possess a balanced mix of leadership, teamwork, communication, and analysis skills, as well as the ability to provide managers across a large and growing array of programs with insightful, proactive, highly tailored, agile, and “right-sized” support.  This support includes estimating, pricing, forecasting, and contract compliance monitoring.  Success in this demanding role will stem from:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Presently holding or being able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline (Master’s degree a plus)
  • 10 years of experience working in a relevant business environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal government accounting and contracting policies
  • Recent examples of successfully providing wide-ranging project control and contracting support to service providers under contract to the DoD
  • Proven ability to facilitate business growth and expand this role in response to business imperatives
  • Mastery of Microsoft® Office and Project®, as well as enterprise resource planning tools

Senior Electrical Engineer

Verus Research is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to perform research and development in the technical domains of high-power microwaves (HPM), microwave and radio frequency (RF) communication, and electronic warfare (EW).  The Senior Electrical Engineer will possess an expansive understanding of RF systems design engineering.  The selected applicant is expected to perform high-fidelity modeling and simulation-based design and optimization of circuit and system components, antennas, design of experiments, experimental testing, and analysis to support the development of prototype RF systems.  Responsibilities include serving as a senior lead engineer overseeing an engineering team in the achievement of customer requirements.  This posting is for work in the Albuquerque, NM, area.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Electrical Engineer role will possess a strong mix of leadership traits, program and technical management experience, experimental and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide innovative solutions.  Success in this demanding role will stem from:

  • 10 or more years’ experience working in relevant technical areas in a DoD research or academic environment
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, modeling, and testing of RF front-end systems, antennas, and printed circuit board design and fabrication
  • Proven experience with RF and microwave measurements, RF propagation analysis, and outdoor RF testing
  • Robust knowledge of design engineering, laboratory-scale test instrument automation, signal processing, and data analysis tools, such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python™, Agilent (Keysight) ADS, CST Microwave Studio®, HFSS is highly desired
