Brian Gorgas is the Director of Applied Nuclear Research for Verus Research. He has over 28 years’ experience in technical and program management across the fields of nuclear weapons effects testing and advanced military command and control systems. In his current role, he directs the strategic activities of the nuclear portfolio, overseeing the nuclear weapons effects testing contracts and business development efforts, including capturing the company’s largest acquisition to date.
Before joining Verus Research, Brian served as a project manager and systems engineer at TechFlow, Inc, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), and Leidos, Inc. In these capacities, Brian has supported a range of programs from biometric capture systems to combat operation center development. Brian deployed twice as a contractor to Iraq in support of the systems he supported during this time. Prior to joining industry, Brian served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Intelligence Analyst with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11MEU) and Marine Aircraft Group-11 (MAG-11).
Brian holds a master’s degree in systems engineering from the George Washington University. He earned his undergraduate degree in computer science from Park University. Brian also earned his Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2014.
