Daniel A. Luna is an accomplished finance and business operations executive based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with two decades of professional experience across multiple business disciplines, including finance, accounting, procurement, contracts, and program management. As the Director of Finance & Business Operations for Verus Research since February 2019, Daniel oversees critical functions such as finance, accounting, project control, purchasing, and business intelligence.
Prior to his current role, Daniel held the position of Project Control and Contracts Administration Manager at Verus Research, where he managed project control functions and contracts administration, enhancing financial processes and strategic execution from January 2016 to January 2019. His prior expertise also includes serving as the Assistant Division Manager at TechFlow Inc.’s Scientific Division, where he led divisional financial management, procurement, and strategic proposal processes from June 2013 to December 2015.
Daniel’s earlier career includes significant roles at SAIC, where he progressed from Division Controller to Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and then to Assistant Vice President as the Finance Operations Manager for the Applied Sciences Operation.
Daniel holds a master’s degree in management with a concentration in accounting an undergraduate degree in management with a concentration in finance, both from the University of New Mexico. He also earned an executive education certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
