Douglas C. (Doug) Wood is the Director of Radio Frequency Applications & Effects for Verus Research. In this role, he leads Verus Research’s efforts in directed energy test and evaluation, electronic warfare, software development, and modeling and simulation architectures. Since coming to Verus Research, he previously served as Wargame Analyst, Team Lead, and the Technical Director for the Directed Energy Test and Evaluation portfolio. He is also a member of the Verus Research Culture Team.

Before joining Verus Research, Doug was the Director for UAS Services at Silent Falcon, a solar electric drone company based in the Albuquerque area. Prior to his commercial career, Doug served 6 years in the United States Marine Corps as an Intelligence Officer, filling numerous roles, including Instructor, Collections and Targeting Officer, and Regimental Intelligence Officer. He deployed to Iraq in 2015.

Doug has two baccalaureate degrees –- History, and International Studies: Comparative Religion — from the University of Washington.
