Henry L. (Hank) Andrews, Jr., is a founding member and the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Verus Research (formerly XL Scientific, LLC). He also serves on the Company’s Executive Committee.
From 2009 to 2013, Hank held executive leadership roles with BBA Aviation, plc, including overseeing western region commercial aircraft support services, leading business units in the United Kingdom and Houston, and building operational capability through mergers and acquisitions, product transitions, strategic planning, and business development.
Before joining BBA Aviation, Hank was Assistant Vice President for Business Development in the Applied Sciences Operation of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). Immediately prior, Hank was Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing for Eclipse Aviation where he managed the aircraft manufacturer’s global supplier relationships, supplier performance, and internal sourcing processes.
Prior to his aerospace and defense career, Hank served for 27 years in the U.S. Air Force, including two assignments as a wing commander and as the Kirtland Air Force Base installation commander. He retired as a colonel.
In the community, Hank is Treasurer and a board director for the non-profit New Space Nexus, is Treasurer and a board director for the non-profit Dakota Tree Project, and serves on the Boards of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce and Albuquerque Museum Foundation. Hank is also a member of the Leadership Council of the National Small Business Association. Hank previously served as an appointed member of the Bernalillo County Detention Facilities Oversight Advisory Board and Public Safety Advisory Board.
A graduate of Syracuse University, Hank also holds graduate degrees from Louisiana Tech University and the National Defense University and has attended executive education at Duke University, Emory University, Northwestern University, and the Center for Creative Leadership. He is co-author and co-editor of the book Security in Korea: War, Stalemate and Negotiation, and has also been published in Airpower Journal.
