Senior Computer Vision Engineer

Verus Research is searching for a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to lead the development of advanced computer vision algorithms.

The Senior Computer Vision Engineer will play a strong role in taking projects from conception to deployment, focusing on extracting valuable information from both synthetic and real-world data sources. The candidate will work on both offline and online data processing tasks, including feature identification, object state estimation, and scene reconstruction. The candidate is also expected to interact with customers and collaborate with various stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges. This position is for onsite work in Albuquerque, N.M.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Computer Vision Engineer role will possess a strong background in developing and optimizing algorithms for tasks like object detection, tracking, key point detection, image segmentation, and 3D model reconstruction, in addition to a passion for mentoring and desire to foster team success.

Success in this demanding position will stem from:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in computer vision with a deep understanding of topics like object detection, tracking, keypoint detection, image segmentation, and neural networks for space or aerospace applications
  • Expertise in real-time computer vision algorithms
  • Proficient in programming languages, specifically Python and C++
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Strong communication skills for effectively conveying technical concepts and collaborating within a team
  • Knowledge of advanced techniques such as You Only Look Once (YOLO), Structure from Motion (SfM), Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) or Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is highly desirable
