Project Controls Manager

Verus Research is searching for a Project Controls Manager to build and mature the project controls team and implement an Earned Value Management (EVM) process. The Project Controls Manager must have strong knowledge and experience in Earned Value work controls, including planning, estimating, and scheduling integration with an emphasis on costs and financial data reporting; experience with creating and implementing policies and procedures; and a strong knowledge base of enterprise software. Experience in Department of Defense, research and development environment, is highly desired.

The Project Controls Manager is responsible for ensuring the project controls team provides end-to-end analysis and reporting of program cost and schedule in support of the Program Manager, Chief Operating Officer, and Finance Department. This individual will have a complete understanding of and deep experience with application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards in project controls.

Success in this demanding position will stem from:

• U.S. citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance, preferred
• At least 8 years of directly related experience; working in a relevant business environment, preferred
• Knowledge of and experience with application of Earned Value Management (EVM) practices, requirements, analysis, and reporting
• Demonstrate high level knowledge of best scheduling practices within Microsoft Project or similar software
• Experience with analysis and development of programmatic financial reporting requirements, including “estimates to complete,” “estimates at complete,” and variance analysis
• Strong relationship building and communication skills with Technical Staff
• Experience with government aerospace/defense contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), highly preferred
• Past experience standing up and leading teams, creating policies and procedures, leading multiple internal projects with different deadlines, and crafting enterprise-level communications
