Verus Research is searching for a Buyer to provide excellent and prompt service to internal customers who require specific and often hard-to-find materials and services. This position is in support of technical project teams in a research and development (R&D) environment. This is a unique opportunity to perform procurement activities for highly complex technical programs in a dynamic work setting designed to maximize mutual joy in pursuit of practical solutions to meet tomorrow’s needs.
The Buyer will be responsible for efficiently executing purchase requisitions in compliance with all contractual and legal requirements. Experience with purchasing documentation that meets CPSR standards and familiarity with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and public laws are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and work well as a member of a team. They should also have a solid understanding of procurement principles, concepts, standards, and industry best practices.

Success in this demanding role will stem from:
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, business, communications, or other relevant discipline; Master’s degree a plus
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a contract manufacturing, government contracting, research and development, or other business environment focused on new product development
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be flexible and responsive to internal and external customers’ requirements
- Experience in buying activities across various commodities, including electronics, mechanical systems, printed circuit boards and box assembly, services, and test equipment
- Experience supporting audits, policy improvements, training
- Interest in additional professional development
- Knowledge of suppliers in the greater Albuquerque market is a plus
