Computer Vision Engineer

Verus Research is searching for a Computer Vision Engineer to develop computer vision algorithms from conception to software deployment to support research and development in the areas of space and autonomy.

The Computer Vision Engineer will implement, develop, tune, innovate, and deploy a variety of algorithms. This includes both offline and online data processing to identify features and estimate states of objects in the scene as well as scene reconstruction. The candidate is also expected to work collaboratively with a team of internal and external team members to achieve success. The ideal candidate for the Computer Vision Engineer position will possess strong analytical skills and a strong background in computer vision. Some experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous: signal processing, dynamics and control, autonomous system development, and networked or multi-agent systems. Success in this demanding position will stem from:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working on computer vision with a solid understanding of general computer vision topics
  • Experience with “real-time computer vision algorithms”
  • Strong programming skills with experience using Python and C++
  • Experience using a deep machine learning framework such as TensorFlow or Pytorch
  • Experience with You Only Look Once (YOLO), Structure from Motion (SfM), or Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithms is advantageous
