Verus Research is searching for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist with system design and analysis in support of a number of advanced aerospace systems.
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will perform a number of duties which may include system requirements development, solid modeling, finite element analysis, high voltage bus work design, fabrication print development, and assembly of mechanical test surrogates. The intern may also apply similar tools and techniques to other research projects. The candidate is also expected to work collaboratively with teams of engineers and scientists to achieve successful project execution. This posting is for work in Albuquerque, NM and is intended to be a summer 2024 appointment only. Verus Research is prepared to pay for round-trip travel to and from Albuquerque and lodging expenses during your time in Albuquerque. The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Engineering Intern role will possess a strong mix of design, analytical, and hands-on skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide innovative solutions. Success in this demanding position will stem from:
- U.S. Citizen
- Completion of at least two years of study in a university mechanical engineering program or relevant engineering discipline
- Experience with SolidWorks® CAD software
- Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques
- Familiarity with electrical systems and electric fields
