Verus Research is searching for a Project Controller. Through direct involvement in multiple projects of varying contract type, size, complexity, and level of risk, the Project Controller participates in planning, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on these efforts. The selected candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of and broad experience applying the principles, concepts, practices, and standards of Program Control and cost accounting skills. Extensive knowledge of U.S. defense industry contract practices is highly preferred. This role requires regular interface with project managers, senior technical staff, and other functional areas, including contracting, subcontract management, finance, and procurement.

The ideal candidate will possess a balanced mix of leadership, teamwork, communication, and analysis skills, as well as the ability to provide managers across a large and growing array of programs with insightful, proactive, highly tailored, agile, and “right-sized” support. This support includes estimating, pricing, forecasting, and contract compliance monitoring.
Success in this demanding role will stem from:
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline (Master’s degree a plus)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a relevant business environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal government accounting and contracting policies, preferred
- Recent examples of successfully providing wide-ranging project control and contracting support to service providers under contract to the DoD, preferred
- Proven ability to facilitate business growth and expand this role in response to business imperatives
- Mastery of Microsoft® Office and Project®, as well as enterprise resource planning tools
