Verus Research is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Scheduler to support the planning, execution, and performance tracking of complex technical programs within the Department of Defense (DoD) aerospace contracting environment. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining integrated master schedules (IMS), optimizing resource allocation, and partnering with Program Managers and Project Controllers to ensure projects stay on track across cost, schedule, and performance baselines.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building, analyzing, and maintaining project schedules within a DoD or federally funded environment. The Project Scheduler will proactively engage with technical and functional teams to integrate dependencies, identify risks, and recommend recovery strategies ensuring alignment between project execution and technical/contractual deliverables. Experience with scheduling tool Microsoft Project, and the ability to communicate schedule impacts clearly to stakeholders, are essential.
Success in this demanding role will stem from:
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, engineering, or related field (PMP or equivalent certification preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and maintaining schedules in a DoD or aerospace environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Project (experience integrating cost/schedule baselines preferred)
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and reporting
- Ability to analyze schedule health, identify critical paths, and forecast project outcomes
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams (engineering, contracts, finance, and procurement) in a matrixed environment
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate technical and contractual information into actionable plans and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
