Technical Project Manager

Verus Research is searching for a Technical Project Manager to lead research and development projects across the space and autonomy portfolio.

The Technical Project Manager will manage and contribute to research and development efforts requiring an integrated approach to program development involving multiple team members from several engineering disciplines. The Technical Project Manager will manage project scope, schedule, budget, and internal and external resources in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mix of leadership traits, project management and analytical skills, a desire to develop innovative solutions, willingness to contribute at the technical and managerial levels, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders.

This is not a remote position. This posting is for in the office work in the Albuquerque, NM.

Success in this demanding role will stem from:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline
  • 2+ years of project management experience in high technical areas
  • Experience using project management tools for management of requirements, scope, schedule, cost risk and quality.
  • Proficient in estimating and planning project resources using tools like work breakdown structures and integrated master schedules
  • Experience in software development for embedded systems, preferably in space-based or aerospace applications, with a strong understanding of onboard software architectures, real-time processing, and system integration, as well as broader expertise in software product development, including full lifecycle development, software reliability, and optimization
  • Strong communication skills with experience developing briefings for senior management, along with expertise in project controls, scope, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
