Verus Research is searching for a Technical Writer & Editor who can effectively communicate scientific ideas and outcomes pertaining to research and development (R&D) in the area of radio frequency and directed energy. The focus is primarily on the development of technical solutions related to High Power Electro-Magnetics (HPEM) including radio frequency (RF) sources, power electronics and high-power microwave (HPM) systems.
The Technical Writer & Editor will have a strong foundation in technical documentation – from research reports to user and maintenance manuals – and be able to clearly convey advanced technical concepts to multiple audiences ranging from advanced to beginner and technical to business. The candidate is expected to both create new artifacts and edit inputs from other team members. The candidate is also expected to be able to work well in a team to provide multi-disciplinary deliverables. The ideal candidate for the Technical Writer & Editor role will possess a strong mix of leadership traits, analytical skills, relevant experience, and the ability to communicate complex ideas and provide innovative solutions. Success in this demanding position will stem from:
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
- 5 or more year’s demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including experience writing technical reports and briefing program results
- Familiarity with relevant technical areas in academia or Department of Defense R&D domains as they pertain to scientifically complex systems
