Verus Research, an Albuquerque-based research and development company and wholly owned subsidiary of Alabama-based Radiance Technologies, announces Sean Weaver as the company’s first director of procurement. In this new role within the company, Weaver will oversee vendor management, sourcing, competition, purchasing, subcontract administration, and customer purchasing system (CPS) compliance.
“I’m excited to step into this role and support an environment where our teams can focus on solving our customers’ most challenging technical problems,” said Weaver. “My role is to help ensure the structures around our work enable collaboration, sound judgment, and effective execution as we take on increasingly complex technical challenges.”
Weaver, who has been with Verus Research for nearly 5 years, has 15 years of experience in highly regulated aerospace, defense, and government contracting environments. He has been a leader on the team in preparing Verus Research for CPS implementation in his previous role as supply chain manager.
This role, beginning April 1, 2026, comes from Verus Research’s desire to achieve optimal posture for its CPS, separating its contracting and procurement activities. Verus Research leadership expects this change will lead to clearer accountability and reduced compliance risk, alignment with industry best practices at major defense contractors, and improved efficiency, scalability, and supplier performance.
“Sean has been a leader on the team preparing Verus Research for CPS implementation,” said Hank Andrews, managing director and chief financial officer of Verus Research. “He will no doubt make all in the Verus Research family and our colleagues at Radiance Technologies very proud.”
