Verus Research, an Albuquerque-based research and development company and wholly owned subsidiary of Alabama-based Radiance Technologies, announces the appointment of Daniel O. Treibel as its first-ever president with effect from October 1, 2026. Treibel will succeed current chief executive officer Grady L. Patterson, IV.
Patterson, who continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the South Carolina Air National Guard as the 169th Maintenance Operations Flight commander, is preparing to deploy to support overseas operations. “Daniel has the right skills, insights, and leadership to take Verus Research though it’s next stage of growth. I’m excited for the company’s future with his guidance in this key role,” said Patterson.
Joining Verus Research in 2014 as systems engineer, Triebel has served as one of the company’s technical directors, senior director in charge of the former Sensors and Instrumentation group, and since October 2021, as chief operating officer. Prior to joining Verus Research, Treibel filled systems engineering and project manager roles with TechFlow, Inc., American Systems, and Science Applications International Corp. Triebel holds a master’s degree in systems engineering from the George Washington University and an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Mexico.
Upon his return from overseas, Patterson will join Radiance Technologies. Patterson’s new role within the Radiance Technologies family of companies will be announced at a later time. A longtime supporter of his community, Patterson serves on multiple nonprofit boards. Patterson received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Davidson College in North Carolina.
